About Us

Dividend.com is a financial services website focused on providing comprehensive dividend stock coverage and ratings.

Our Story

Dividend.com founder Paul Rubillo, a seasoned stock trader with over 11 years of full-time market experience, noticed that his friends and family were always asking him about the "next hot stock" that they should invest in. Paul soon became aware of a huge problem in the mindset of the general public -- most people think of the stock market as a "get rich quick" scheme (which, in reality, couldn't be further from the truth). Many of us are also all-too-aware of the equally dangerous mindset of the extremely risk-averse, having watched our own older relatives' retirement savings steadily dwindle during the current low interest rate period. Indeed, many people -- especially the elderly -- are at the mercy of miniscule Social Security increases and the paltry returns of their CD's and money market accounts.

Instead of focusing on quick returns from hot stocks or avoiding investing altogether, we reasoned that everyday people should be looking to invest in companies that pay steady stock dividends and are built for long-term growth.

With that, we began researching and compiling the benefits of investing in dividend-paying stocks. What he found was startling -- quality dividend stocks jumped out as quite possibly the single best investment vehicle available to casual investors. We came to this conclusion because of the rare combination of capital gains (money you make when the stock price goes up) and cash flow (annual dividend payments). Long-term dividend stock investing can even provide investors in their later years with additional income derived solely from dividend payouts.

The Birth of Dividend.com

We soon realized that there simply was not a definitive source of information about dividend stock investing. Most financial services websites focus on active stock trading, and only further reinforced the "next hot stock" mentality that plagues many new investors.

Our vision rapidly took shape -- our goal was to create a website that would provide investors with easy-to-understand ratings of dividend stocks in order to help simplify their investing decisions. We then went to work painstakingly researching almost 1,900 dividend-paying stocks, methodically ranking the stocks according to our proprietary Dividend.com Rating System.

Now, after many months in development, we are proud to present the brand new Dividend.com.
