Atlas America- (ATLS)-operates as an independent developer and producer of natural gas and oil. It operates in northern Michigan's Antrim Shale and the Appalachian Basin region of the United States, principally in western New York, eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. As of December 31, 2007, the company had total proved reserves of approximately 884,759 mmcf of natural gas; and total proved reserves of approximately 896,657 mmcfe of oil. It also had working interests in a total of 5,579 net productive wells. The company was founded in 2000 and is based in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.
