Ameristar Casino- (ASCA)-engages in the development, ownership, and operation of casino entertainment facilities in the United States. As of December 31, 2007, the company operated eight properties in Missouri, Iowa, Mississippi, Colorado, Nevada, and Indiana. Its portfolio of casinos consists of Ameristar St. Charles in the St. Louis metropolitan area, Missouri; Ameristar Kansas City near the Kansas City, Missouri; Ameristar Council Bluffs at the bank of the Missouri River, Iowa; Resorts East Chicago near Chicago, Illinois; Ameristar Vicksburg in Vicksburg, Mississippi; Ameristar Black Hawk near Denver, Colorado; Cactus Petes Resort Casino and The Horseshu Hotel & Casino in Jackpot, Nevada; and Resorts East Chicago in East Chicago, Indiana. Ameristar Casinos was founded in 1954 and is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
