Werner Enterprises- (WERN)-engages in hauling truckload shipments of general commodities, as well as providing logistics services in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and internationally. It operates in two segments, Truckload Transportation Services and Value Added Services. As of December 31, 2007, the company operated 7,470 company tractors, and had contracts for 780 tractors owned by owner-operators. It also operated 24,855 trailers, including 23,109 dry vans, 501 flatbeds, and 1,245 temperature-controlled trailers. The company was founded in 1956 and is headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
