After a number of large tech companies added nearly $1 trillion in value to the economy since the start of the year, this week we’re going to see how some of the big names in the pharmaceutical industry fared compared to the tech sector.
Although earnings of healthcare and pharmaceutical companies are not hyped like famous tech companies, we will get to see some large-cap earnings reports from the likes of AstraZeneca PLC (AZN ), Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (REGN) and CVS Health Corporation (CVS ). If your dividend portfolio has exposure to the pharma industry, it might be a good idea to review some of these earnings calls, as they may offer valuable insight into what to expect in the last quarter of the year.
To conclude, in terms of macroeconomic developments, it is going to be a data-light week, but as usual, we will get to see a number of regular weekly updates. Nonetheless, pay special attention to this week’s jobless claims figure as it has gone up since reaching a record low of 222,000 in October.
