When it comes to investment gurus, Ron Baron doesn’t get enough credit.
Baron, who started Baron Capital and the Baron brand of mutual funds back in the 1980s, was one of the first investors to focus on mid-cap stocks. Specifically, mid-cap growth stocks trading at reasonable prices. That turned out to be the smart place to be. Harnessing mid-cap’s power and higher returns, Baron managed to turn Baron Capital into a top-tier fund manager, increase his own wealth to billionaire status and drive asset under management of his funds to more than $26 billion.
That’s some serious credentials.
And considering Baron doesn’t often give too many interviews, when he does talk, it pays to listen. In a recent interview with CNBC, Baron, perhaps, gave the best investing advice ever.
