Real estate investment trusts (REITs) have been a popular way for income seekers to boost their cash flows, while still providing plenty of returns. However, lately, REITs haven’t exactly kept up their end of the bargain. A variety of factors have continued to hurt the sector, pushing share prices down and producing market lagging returns.
But they have also created plenty of long-term bargains.
The so-called ‘REIT Reset’ could be a wonderful buying opportunity for the long term. Data shows that REITs should not be counted out. For investors, that means adding a swath of REITs today for future gains.
